question What steps does the SUBWAY® chain take to ensure food safety in its outlets?
answer Disposable gloves are required to be worn during all food handling procedures and all franchises are provided with detailed information on the correct food handling procedures in order to train their staff members. The procedures cover correct hand washing, glove-use procedures, and food rotation. Food is prepared fresh daily, and temperatures of fridges, freezers and counters are monitored regularly.
question What is the SUBWAY® franchisee-training programme like?
answer Each franchisee candidate is required to attend a two-week training course. The time is spent in the classroom and on-site at a local SUBWAY® outlet. The course consists of 50% classroom training and 50% outlet training, so you can practise in reality what you have learnt in the classroom. At the end of the two weeks, each attendee must pass a comprehensive exam in order to become a SUBWAY® franchisee. Once you have completed your training, you will begin working with your Developer on the next steps.

answer HQ communicates with its franchisees through newsletters, voicemail, e-mail, intranet and regularly produced training videos. It also communicates to the world and franchisees via the Internet.
