Art and Culture

Liverpool's commitment to art, both high and popular, is without question. It plays a part in everyday Liverpool life, not just in the Tate and Walker galleries and countless smaller, cutting-edge spaces, but also in the city's musical culture that has drawn influence from all around the world in this cosmopolitan city.

Liverpool Cathedral

As you enter Liverpool Cathedral you truly enter a great space. Sir John Betjeman called it 'one of the great buildings of the world.' When visitors step through the door, most people do two things - they say 'wow' and lift their heads. It holds many records such as UK's largest cathedral, highest and heaviest peals of bells and so much more.

Night Life

A good place to start is 'Concert Square' the center & heartbeat of Liverpool's buzzing nightlife, you'll instantly get a feel of what Liverpool is all about when you enter Concert Square about 10:30pm on a Friday or Saturday night. The same goes for 'Mathew Street' and if you're after something a little trendy then head to Victoria Street (next door to mathew st.) or St Peters Square (next to concert sq.)

The Albert Dock, itself is a great place to go out, with river views if you fancy a bit of sight seeing on your first visit to Liverpool. Check out Circo bar, Baby Cream and Pan America, another popular trendy and up market patch, loads of glamour and young professionals, and dress to impress is a must or you'll just look out of place. Overall good pre-clubbing location then get yourself over to Concert Square or Mathew Street.

If you fancy some late hour clubbing then head to Eberle Street, Liverpool's popular after hour clubbing strip, just up the road from Mathew Street. Super Club Garlands 11pm - 4am and then G bar nightclub or Passion nightclub... drinking and dancing till 8am in the morning, loads of funky house and electro music.
